Why Is It So Important To Keep Oral Storytelling Alive?

Why is it important to keep the maori story’s going because Myth and legends are a traditions way that have been past down from generation to generation .  

For this task we had to watch a video about Maori oral storytelling. We watched three videos talking about oral storytelling. We had to work collaboratively with our partners. We had to answer the question Why is it important to keep oral storytelling alive. The hard thing about this was that the videos were in Te Reo so we had to read the subtitles.

Current Events

In this task we had to write about a current event that was happening in the world. We focused on one event that had happen which was China banning Ivory sellers. My point of view for this was that it is quite good because they will now stop killing animals and there will be less poaching. But I also think this is bad because people will start losing their jobs which means that their will be less money for the families. 

PBS performance - Te Oro

Some pupils at Panmure Bridge School, went down to Te Oro to perform. Since our inquiry topic this term is Te Taiao o Tamaki, we had to base our performance within their topic. Javeylor and I were part of Te Taiao O Tamika show cast. There were many other schools that performed within the Manaikalani Cluster. I really like how Javeylor was wearing the milk cartons and I was wearing a plastic jacket and bubble wrap. I felt very nervous but I just carried on till the end. Thanks to the teachers for helping us put our costumes on and get ready for the performance. I think the people who were performing did a really good job an made our school proud.

Kokako bird

Today I completed a DLO with Javeylor. Our DLO is about the Kokako bird, in our DLO you will find out what they eat where they live and more! If you want to learn more about this unique bird you can either look it up on the internet or read what is right in front of you. Word Clines

  This is my DLO based a reading can do. I have done a activity on Word Clines. I have learnt lots about word clines, the definition of word clines are finding other words that are the same. E.g (Happy, Joyful, Delighted and more). My goal for reading today was to actually find a interesting words that I hardly use.

 Today we were learning to find the language features using the article.We had to highlight words/sentences based on weather it was a Verb,Adverb,Noun,Adjective or a Simile.For our task we had to do was to find all of the Language Features  but when we were finished we had to make a DLO about what we did today.
