Summer Learning Journey - Facts about Chile

For this second activity, what I had to do was find three facts about Chile. I wasn't allowed to include the facts in the world map.
Fact One: Chile has the worlds biggest swimming pool which is a length of 1000 yards.
Fact Two: Chile has the worlds oldest mummy.
Fact Three: Chile has 17.62 million people.

  1. Hi Mishaan,

I have learned quite a bit from reading your blog today. Thanks! I love to learn, particularly when it is about interesting places and people. In this case, I have now learned that Chile has the world's oldest mummy and the world's biggest swimming pool. For a country that is the longest in the world, this is a quite cool!

I have a friend who is currently living in Chile so I will have to pass along these facts to her. She'll find them so interesting! She's living and working in the capital city of Santiago at the University of Santiago. I'm really hoping that she will come back to NZ soon but they're having so much fun that they want to stay for another year. Apparently, Chile is so interesting that they can't bear to leave.

I hope that you enjoy learning new things about Germany and Chile over the next few weeks. There is so much to learn.

    Here we go!

    Rachel :)

  2. Hi Mishaan,

I agree with Rachel, I have already learned quite a bit from your blogging! What made you decide to switch countries from Germany to Chile? I think Chile is a very interesting country to explore, they have such an ancient history. You'll be able to learn even more amazing facts!

I can't imagine what a swimming pool that long must look like, it doesn't sound very practical! It must need so much water to fill it up, or if it's heated that must take a lot of energy! Do you like to go swimming at any of the pools here in Auckland? I used to work as a lifeguard at some of the pools on the North Shore, but that's a few years ago now. These days I get to teach at Manurewa High School which is even more fun.

I hope you are enjoying your learning journey so far Mishaan :-)

    Cheers,
    Dan.
